CHC bunkers are an important part of the storyline and thus have to be game-master moderated, so a player character can only find a bunker if they actively start looking for it in the wastelands (or via clues), but the success of this will always be decided by the game-master. Don't worry, though. If you're keen on searching and exploring these bunkers, you will be able to. Just prepare yourself and get some good clues!

After the European Union started demanding cooperation from other countries in the world to place CHC outposts on their territory, they had placed numerous CHC Bunkers throughout the European Union, United States of America and Mexico, and the Russian Coalition countries, which ranged from storage, sentry posts and underground barracks to research & development laboratories, automated genetic facilities and human (and later mutant) -*test*-('") facilities. While some countries accepted this willingly, thinking the CHC was successful in controlling the population, some countries refused but were soon forced to accept.

No one outside the CHC was allowed close to these bunkers and only the high-ranking CHC personell knew what the individual bunkers really held. Before the nuclear holocaust, the resistance had invaded and captured two CHC bunkers. They have later abandoned their mission to capture as many bunkers as they could because not only were the facilities much too fortified and well-defended, they were, according to resistance fighters that made it out alive, intricate and horrifying deathtraps.

The information on the whereabouts of these bunkers has been long lost, but lucky (or unlucky) travelers can stumble on them in the wastelands. Also, one might find clues about where these facilities are located from the locals. There are even those who have formed "bunker hunters", which hoped to exploit and plunder these places, but finding these bunkers has proven to be a major task, as the entrances to the underground facilities are all very concealed (trap doors in old shacks and the like). It has also been reported that the bunkers, that have been found by people after the nuclear war, have all been very hard to get into and that many of the facilities' defences have still been operational, most of them extremely highly advanced, making progress with simple projectile weapons and leather armour impossible. In fact, only one bunker had actually been entered, according to reports. It is not known if the other one that had been found was actually breached, since only two survivors returned. One of them stayed outside, guarding, and actually dragged the other survivor back to a scrap city, who seemed to have lost his mind completely, acting in an almost zombified manner.

Furthermore, rare individuals that have returned from these hunts alive have claimed that they did not dare advance further than the entrance corridor as the place felt far too wrong and... alien.
